Assessing basic needs with a simple DiSC assessment.
Wouldn't it be great if people had their needs written all over them? Basic needs, preferences, and priorities dictate how people work and interact with others.
Our effectiveness as leaders is enhanced when we know both our own natural personality style, and that of our employees.
Knowing how they "tick" can help us adjust our approach as communicators, delegators, coaches, and teachers.
Fortunately, there is a quick, two-question method to estimate a person's type, and assign them to one of four Everything DiSC quadrants.
The Simple Two-Question DiSC Assessment
Is the person more Fast-paced and Outspoken or more Cautious and Reserved?
--- Mark the vertical line where the person falls on that spectrum.
Is the person more Questioning and Skeptical, or more Warm and Accepting?
--- Mark the horizontal line where the person falls that spectrum.
Now, simply place a dot where the two lines intersect. That's their most likely DiSC quadrant.
Reviewing the summary information for that type will be helpful in understanding needs, strengths, limitations, fears, and motivations.
